Letters: Gov. Brown and the environment

Re “Brown a lighter shade of green,” Jan. 1
Your article about Gov. Jerry Brown’s going soft on environmental protection while caving in to big polluters was disturbing.
Doesn’t Brown know he is undercutting his own policies? Doesn’t he know that a truly green economy will dissolve the false contradiction between environmental health and business prosperity? Doesn’t he know that if we don’t get a handle on greenhouse gas emissions, there will be climate destruction, economic failure and misery for all?
