Marine Corps Reserve Pfc. Dony V. Dao, son of Mi A. Tran of Burbank

and Don V. Dao of Huntington Beach, recently returned from a

six-month deployment along with a unit that participated in Operation

Iraqi Freedom ... Army Reserve Pfc. Briana M. Foster recently

graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia,

S.C. The 2003 Marina High School graduate is the daughter of John J.

residents Jody Battles, James Matsubayashi, Dan Keenan and Craig

Shimomura of teams Coastherapy I and Coastherapy II will compete in

the Balance Bar Adventure Sprint race Saturday at Bonelli Park in Los

Angeles. Disciplines featured in the sprints include mountain biking,

running and kayaking and special obstacle tests.
