Baseball: Jon Garland to make appearance at Kennedy alumni game

We’ll get to see what kind of shape former major-league pitcher Jon Garland is in on Saturday. He’s scheduled to play in the Granada Hills Kennedy alumni baseball game set for 11:30 a.m.

Garland was the 10th pick in the 1997 draft. He played for the White Sox, Angels, Dodgers, Padres and Rockies. His last season was 2013. He was an All-Star in 2005.

The game will mark the debut of first-year Coach Marcus Alvarado, the son of former Kennedy Coach Manny Alvarado.
