Boys’ basketball: Rolling Hills Prep, at 1-0, is finally going to move into high gear
- Share via
When Harvey Kitani retired as basketball coach at Fairfax and moved on to Rolling Hills Prep, he must have wanted to take it easy in December, because his team has played just one game all season.
That was on Dec. 9, an 89-7 win over Lennox.
He ran into scheduling issues, so for most of the month, the players have been practicing against each other.
Asked if they’re tired of seeing him at practice, Kitani said, “Probably.”
Well, Rolling Hills Prep is finally ready to see some action. It opens in the Huntington Park tournament on Tuesday against LACES at 5:30 p.m. at Cathedral.
It has 18 games scheduled for January. Rolling Hills Prep is probably the only 1-0 basketball team in America.
