Boys’ basketball: Sylmar cruises to City Section Division II title

There was no stopping the Sylmar Spartans on Friday night in the City Section Division II championship game at Roybal.
The Spartans were dunking, blocking shots and launching three-pointers. They were fast breaking and turning the game into exactly how they like it en route to an 88-54 victory over Garfield.
Devenir Duruisseau scored 24 points, Chance Cole 21 and Malcolm Wadlow 17. Ruben Gonzalez did a great job distributing the ball at point guard, finishing with nine points.
Abel Montgomery led Garfield with 21 points.
