Boys’ basketball: Waiting continues on appeal by Marvin Bagley III
- Share via
Marvin Bagley III, a 6-foot-10 sophomore who moved from Arizona to Chatsworth Sierra Canyon, is still waiting to hear the results of an appeal to the CIF that was heard on Jan. 26 regarding the decision to make him ineligible for one year because the Southern Section ruled his transfer was athletically motivated.
The CIF has 15 business days to announce its decision.
In an email, Kevin Boyle, the attorney representing Bagley, said, “We presented evidence to the appeals board that the Bagley family chose Sierra Canyon specifically for its academics and in fact rejected their offers to ‘basketball schools.’
“Marvin doesn’t need to be at a high-profile basketball school for any more exposure _ he is already the No. 1 ranked player in the nation.”
