Football: Burroughs turns to two-sport standout Steven Hubbell
- Share via
The basketball season begins next week, but Burbank Burroughs quarterback Steven Hubbell, a star guard, is hoping to delay his appearance.
Burroughs (10-1) faces host St. Francis (8-3) on Friday in a Southeast Division quarterfinal playoff game.
The versatile Hubbell has passed for 1,696 yards and 27 touchdowns.
St. Fancis has suddenly awaken with a four-game win streak that started with an upset of Cathedral and includes a 21-19 upset of Warren in last week’s playoff opener.
The return of standout running back Areg Nazarian from an injury has helped the Golden Knights. He’s had games of 144 yards and 111 yards rushing the last two weeks.
