Football: Former USC receiver Mike Williams is new coach at Locke

Mike Williams, a former receiver at USC who was a first-round draft pick of the Detroit Lions in 2005, has been hired as the football coach at Locke High.
Williams, 31, has been coaching for Brentwood School’s middle school program.
Locke Principal James Marin said he spoke to Seattle Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll, who gave a positive recommendation for Williams.
“I’m excited to get to work,” Williams said.
