Football: John Aponte resigns as coach at Banning

John Aponte has resigned as football coach at Banning.
He was head coach for four years and helped return the Banning program to competitiveness.
“It is an amazing job,” Aponte said. “This is a decision based on the time that it takes to do football and raise a family, and it’s important I spend more time with my kids.”
Aponte is expected to keep coaching as an assistant at Redondo.
