Football: Long Beach Poly will play Narbonne, De La Salle, Bishop Gorman

Somebody better check Coach Antonio Pierce’s sanity level. In his second season as football coach at Long Beach Poly, he’s putting together a nonleague schedule unlike any other.
Confirmed games are with City Section Division I title favorite Narbonne on Sept. 4 at Narbonne, 2014 unbeaten national champion Las Vegas Bishop Gorman on Sept. 18 at Bishop Gorman and Open Division bowl champion Concord De La Salle on Oct. 16 at De La Salle. The Jackrabbits still have one game to finalize.
It’s good to see the Jackrabbits taking on the best considering teams no longer really have to worry about strength of schedule, because every section champion in California will receive an automatic bowl berth in the fall under a revamped bowl schedule.
