Football: Narbonne scrimmage is set for Wednesday
- Share via
Narbonne has scheduled its green-gold intrasquad scrimmage for Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The question is can the Gauchos make it through the rest of the week without too much trash talking among players?
The answer is probably no.
Head coach Manuel Douglas and offensive coordinator Brandon Manumaleuna held their draft of players. Douglas got the first choice and chose lineman Shammah Tupua. Manumaluena took quarterback Jalen Chatman.
Of course, Douglas is the commisisoner of the game and there could be trades happening before and during the game. But his team is focused on defense. Manumaleuna drafted a lot of offensive linemen.
The teams are supposed to be evenly split.
“The game is competitive but also lots of fun,” Douglas said.
Narbonne, the defending City Section Division I champion, will have a scrimmage against Chaminade at Chaminade on Aug. 20.
But the green-gold game is about internal bragging rights. That means prepare for lots of celebrating afterwards for the winning team.
