With temperatures expected to soar into the triple digits later this week in parts of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Unified School District’s coordinator of interscholastic athletics, Trent Cornelius, is recommending that football coaches take precautionary measures.
“The message is going to be a strong recommendation to move practices to the morning,” Cornelius said.
Classes have not begun in LAUSD. Football practices have been taking place since July 27.
Weather reports indicate the temperature will rise into the 90s starting Wednesday.
