After scoring touchdowns on its first two possessions, Anaheim Servite has been slowed by penalties but still holds a 16-7 halftime lead over Edison.
Tate Beachley scored on a one-yard run to cap an 80-yard opening drive. Nick Lopiccola scored on a 32-yard run. Andrew Acosta added a 35-yard field goal for a 16-0 Servite lead.
But Kiante Goudeau returned a kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter, and Edison’s defense started to do a better job stopping the run while taking advantage of Servite penalties.
Edison has lost the ball twice on fumbles.
