There’s little doubt who’s the No. 1 softball pitcher in Southern California.
It’s junior Taylor McQuillin of Mission Viejo. She’s an Arizona commit trying to lead the 25-1 Diablos to the Southern Section Division 2 championship. They play Chino on Friday night at 7:15 p.m. at Barber Memorial Park in Irvine.
Mission Viejo is considered the No. 1 team in California by MaxPreps.com.
The other championship games on Friday are St. Bonaventure vs. Cantwell-Sacred Heart at 2 p.m. in Division 6 and St. Paul vs. La Serna at 4:45 p.m. in Division 6.
On Saturday, there are four finals: ACE vs. University Prep at 9:30 a.m. in Division 7; Jurupa Hills vs. Ontario Christian or Citrus Valley at 12:30 p.m. in Division 5; Santa Monica vs. Ventura at 3:30 p.m. in Division 4, and King vs. Garden Grove Pacifica at 6:30 p.m. in Division 1.
