Ava Justman is back to lead Chatsworth softball team

The softball season begins this week, and in the City Section, it’s all about beating defending champion Chatsworth and star junior pitcher Ava Justman.
Justman helped the Chancellors defeat San Pedro 4-1 in last year’s City Open Division final.
She’s back, along with sister Emily. The Chancellors ended last season on an 18-game win streak. They open this season on Tuesday at Saugus.
Also back is Amanda Clark, who had two hits in the City final.
San Pedro figures to offer another strong challenge with the return of pitcher-shortstop Briana Velazquez.
