UCLA’s Jordan Adams is automatic from free-throw line

Jordan Adams explained his approach at the free-throw line, a simple but effective mental mindset.
“I just stay focused on the rim and use the same technique I always use,” the UCLA freshman said, “and hopefully it will keep going in.”
So far, his free throws have done nothing but go in, except for one.
Through three games, Adams has made all but one of his 29 free-throw tries, and he’s made 26 in a row.
The all-time UCLA record for consecutive made free throws is 43 by Darren Collison, a feat achieved over 15 games in the 2008-09 season.
“Every time I see Jordan go to the line, it’s pretty guaranteed for us,” guard Larry Drew II said after UCLA’s 100-70 win against James Madison on Thursday at Pauley Pavilion.
It’s nothing new for Adams to be automatic at the charity stripe.
When he attended Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, he established the school’s consecutive free-throw record by making 34 during the team’s first 12 games of his senior season.
