Update: The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tournament is a single-elimination event featuring 34 pro teams, including those from the lower-tier North American Soccer League and USL Pro, along with 34 amateur clubs. The Galaxy and other Major League Soccer clubs start in the third round, and the Galaxy faces the NASL’s Carolina RailHawks for the second consecutive year. The RailHawks defeated the Galaxy last year, 2-1. If the Galaxy advances, it will play in the fourth round June 12. The Galaxy won the U.S. Open Cup in 2001 and 2005.
