UCLA baseball: Bruins fall to No. 7 Texas Christian

UCLA’s baseball team, ranked sixth when the weekend began, on Saturday lost a second consecutive game to a ranked team.
Texas Christian’s Alex Young allowed one run in eight innings in the No. 7 Horned Frogs’ 3-1 victory at Jackie Robinson Field.
Young (3-0) struck out nine and walked one. He allowed a first-inning run, then breezed through the UCLA lineup. The Bruins (11-3) lost to top-ranked Vanderbilt on Friday.
The Bruins scored their only run on a single, sacrifice, balk and sacrifice fly in the first inning. They had only three hits after the first.
Elliot Barzilli had a two-run double with two outs in the sixth inning to give Texas Christian (9-2) a 3-1 lead.
Grant Watson (2-1) allowed one earned run in six innings for UCLA, which plays USC Sunday in Dodger Stadium at 3:30 p.m.
