Devian Shelton, a third-year sophomore defensive back for USC last season, is no longer part of the program, an athletic department spokesman confirmed.
Shelton’s departure was first reported by USCFootball.com.
Shelton, who played at Inglewood High, signed with USC in 2012. He made two tackles and deflected two passes as a redshirt freshman in the 2013 opener at Hawaii but suffered a foot injury and did not play the rest of the season.
Shelton did not play in any games in 2014.
Shelton is the second defensive back from the 2014 roster who will not be with the Trojans next season. Rahshead Johnson, who redshirted last season as a freshman, left the program in January.
USC’s 2015 recruiting class included four defensive backs.
The Trojans begin spring practice March 3.
