USC added to a deep linebacker corps in the 2015 recruiting class Wednesday when Gardena Serra’s John Houston announced he would sign with the Trojans.
Houston announced his decision during a ceremony at Serra, a few minutes after teammate Rasheem Green announced he would attend USC.
Houston cited USC’s academic and athletic reputation for choosing the Trojans.
“It’s right in my backyard so it just made it perfect,” he said.
Here is a brief look at Houston:
Player: John Houston
Position: Linebacker
Height: 6 feet 3
Weight: 207
High School: Gardena Serra
Schools considered: Arizona State, Oklahoma and Miami
Notes: Houston is part of what has become a Serra pipeline to USC. Cornerback Adoree’ Jackson, quarterback Jalen Greene and linebacker Olajuwon Tucker played at Serra, as did former Trojans receivers Robert Woods, Marqise Lee and George Farmer …. Houston is part of a class that includes linebackers Osa Masina, Porter Gustin and Cameron Smith.
