Best way to Missouri’s battlefields

From LAX, Frontier and Southwest offer nonstop service, and US Airwasy, Frontier, Delta, United, Continental and American offer connecting service (change of plane) to Kansas City, Mo. BATTLEFIELD SITES AND MEMORIALS

The battlefield is open daily except for Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The visitor center is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Battle of Wilson’s Creek Anniversary ceremony is at 7 p.m. on Aug. 10, and the Battle of Wilson’s Creek Reenactment is Aug. 12-14 on a site near the national battlefield, with more than 3,000 reenactors. Contains monuments and memorials to Brig. Gen. Nathaniel Lyon, the Battle of Wilson’s Creek and the unknown Confederate dead at Wilson’s Creek.
