Dr. Livingstone, we presume? Why, of course, if you’re embarking on a new tour that follows the adventures of the great 19th century Scottish explorer who crisscrossed Africa, happening upon Victoria Falls and other wonders.
The nine-day trip to Tanzania, “In the Footsteps of David Livingstone,” includes visits to the island of Zanzibar; the capital, Dar es Salaam; historic Bagamoyo; the immense Selous Game Reserve, for wildlife viewing; and the site near Lake Tanganyika where explorer and journalist Henry Stanley met up with Livingstone and uttered his now-famous query.
Dates: Departures Oct. 12 and Dec. 1.
Price: $5,895 to $6,950 per person, double occupancy. The price includes accommodations; all meals and wildlife viewing at the game reserve; other meals as listed; park fees; guide fees; tours as listed; airport transfers; internal flights and road transport; and more.
