Reporting from Las Vegas — Adventuredome’s El Loco celebrates its first birthday on Wednesday, Feb. 18, with two-for-one tickets for the 72-second roller coaster ride. Better yet, turn up wearing the ride’s black-and-yellow color scheme and ride for free.
The coaster, located in the theme park at Circus Circus, reaches a maximum speed of 45 miles per hour. Four riders fit in mini-carriages, which are rigged with surround-sound music pumping out Latin, hip-hop and rock beats.
The ride starts with a 90-foot ascent, a hairpin turn and a lateral portion that turns riders 45 degrees, pulling guests out of their seats. A 180-degree turn races into a barrel roll, followed by a reverse 240-degree roll that zooms into an inverted drop before coming to a complete stop.
Guests riding El Loco on Wednesday can also nab two-for-one tickets on Canyon Blaster, the world’s only indoor double-loop, double-corkscrew roller coaster that flies at 55 miles per hour.
El Loco is included in the purchase of a $29.95 Adventuredome premium all-day ride pass or as a $10 single ride ticket. Passengers must be at least 48 inches to ride.
