Reporting from Las Vegas — Have a weekend to spend in Las Vegas? The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority estimates that the average tourists spends 3.2 nights in the city, plenty of time to see all that’s new and do it like a pro. Here are some new things to try when you’re in town.
Where to stay
Try the new express check-in service at Vdara Hotel & Spa. The $50 service offers early check-in, a concierge call to set up special requests beforehand and provides nightly turndown service with a treat.

Where to drink
The new Lago by Julian Serrano at the Bellagio not only features Italian fare meant to share, but most of the restaurant’s cocktails include garnishes meant to eat. Try the Rosso Bellini with a caramel nest with a golden raspberry inside or the Sgroppino with an edible cocktail sphere made from Prosecco, lemoncello, lemon sorbet and cocoa butter sitting on top of lemon sorbet. Guests are encouraged to pop it in their mouths before tasting the Prosecco.
Make like a pro and request a seat on the patio that overlooks the Fountains at Bellagio and be sure to point out to your friends that the mosaic at the entrance is a map of Milan.

Where to sun
Check out the Monte Carlo’s new Sensation pool party from noon to 5 p.m. Fridays through Sundays. It features games, deejays and a lazy river. Non hotel guests can head to the pool for $10.

The MGM Grand’s new Whiskey Down brings an upscale gaming parlour with interactive tables. While gamblers can play blackjack and video poker, the InteractivePro Tables look like giant smartphones with eight speakers, 16 headphone jacks and 42-inch tabletop screens configurable up to four ways so that friends can play free games against each other or alone. The 24-hour bar features more than 100 brown spirits as well. Try “The Last Drop,” a 1960 Scotch whiskey that is one of only 1,347 bottles ever produced.
