Officials of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry also urged executives from six major Japanese microchip firms to buy more U.S.-made chips. The move follows U.S. charges that Japanese companies have violated a U.S.-Japan pact aimed at halting predatory pricing and at boosting U.S. access to the Japanese market.
