Prudential will develop real estate brokerages

The Newark, N.J.-based insurance and financial services company intends to build a national network of franchised brokerage offices through a new subsidiary, Prudential Real Estate Affiliates, which will be headed by Jerome M. Cole, who has been chairman of Coldwell Banker Residential Affiliates Inc. The new subsidiary will be headquartered in Southern California.
