At last, a Robert Hilburn article I could enjoy (“The American Dream East,” May 1). No, savor!
Hordes of young Japanese sporting orange hair, studded leather and fishnet hose. Hip-hopping in dingy clubs. Adoring Aerosmith and Motley Crue. Fashioning themselves after a bunch of blubbery rappers like Run-D.M.C.
Take that, Tokyo. After all those Toyotas, Sonys, Mitsubishis, trade deficits and Fuji blimps, we’re finally able to give some of it back.
I’m in gaijin heaven.
