GE Sued Over Vincennes Radar: Relatives of airliner passengers killed when the warship USS Vincennes shot down an Iran Air jet in the Persian Gulf a year ago have sued General Electric Corp., maker of the ship’s radar system, spokesman Nagib Ghafoor said. The suit was filed in San Francisco on behalf of relatives of 83 of the 290 victims. The complaint charged that the radar equipment indicated that the aircraft approaching the Vincennes was an attacking F-14 rather than the Iran Air flight.
