Cincinnati Bell Buys Telemarketing Firm

CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Bell Inc. said Wednesday that it has acquired the telemarketing company Automated Phone Exchange Inc. of Salt Lake City.
Apex, founded in 1979, is a privately held company offering inbound telemarketing services using toll-free 800 lines, as well as outbound services.
The Apex operation will be merged with the NICE Corp. of Ogden, Utah, to form a new entity, NICE-Apex.
The new company will be headed by the president of NICE, Seldon O. Young, and will continue to operate as a division of Matrixx Marketing Inc., a Cincinnati Bell subsidiary. Apex management will join NICE management to lead the new company.
