Schering-Plough Sells Maybelline: Schering-Plough Corp., seeking to disentangle itself from the financially unpredictable beauty-products business, agreed to sell its Maybelline unit for $300 million to a group including the unit’s management and Playtex Family Products Corp. Maybelline was placed on the auction block in December, as Madison, N.J.-based Schering-Plough was forced to bow to the fierce competitive forces shaping the global pharmaceutical business.
