IDENTITY CRISIS: The feds have issued a list of firms whose names sound like financial institutions but are not banks, trust companies or S&Ls.; On the list of sound-alikes is Great American Bank & Trust in Laguna Beach, easily confused with the local branch of San Diego-based Great American Bank--”the legitimate one,” according to a federal spokesman. “Somebody is trading on their name.”
