BONUS: An unexpected result of the Michigan court decision giving Joan Irvine Smith $149 million--plus interest--is that the heiress may rejoin Forbes magazine’s list of 400 richest Americans (E1). She was dropped in 1987 because her lawsuit over the value of Irvine Co. stock clouded her worth. The magazine “will have to take another look” for its next ranking in October, says the list’s editor Harold Seneker.
