Rising Gas Prices in Mideast Crisis
So, President Bush is sending his fund-raisers all over the world to help underwrite his Iraq military adventure (Aug. 31). At the same time, the major beneficiaries (Standard Oil, Mobil, Texaco, Aramco, etc.) are raising gas prices and profiteering while consumers get ripped off again.
If you want financial support, Mr. President, slap a surtax on the oil companies. At the same time, make them roll back gas prices. These multibillion-dollar giants should do their part to finance the Iraq fiasco. After all, their interests are being protected.
