Teradata Corp., the leading manufacturer of high-performance relational database computer systems, named James C. Castle to the post of president.
Kenneth W. Simonds remains as the El Segundo company’s chairman and will share the office of chief executive with Castle.
Castle’s top priorities will be focusing the research and development operations of the company on advancing Teradata’s product leadership and working with Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Donald C. Cantor to further expand worldwide sales, marketing and manufacturing operations. Simonds will focus on Teradata’s corporate strategy and external relationships.
Castle joins Teradata from Infotron Systems Corp. a communication network systems company, where he has served as chairman, president and chief executive since 1989, and as president and chief executive since 1987.
