William Lyon Cos. Sales Rise 6.5%

NEWPORT BEACH — While many home builders had trouble finding buyers, William Lyon Cos. reported Friday that its production rose 26% and its sales volume increased 6.5% in 1991.
The Newport Beach-based home-building company said that it built and sold 1,968 houses and 1,770 apartments in Southern California last year, compared to 2,410 houses and 559 apartments the previous year. Sales volume grew to $668 million last year from $624.4 million the previous year.
