Lockheed Settles Worker Contamination Suit: Lockheed Corp. settled a lawsuit alleging that it failed to protect 624 workers from chemical contamination while they worked on the F-117A Stealth fighter and other secret projects. Terms of the settlement in Los Angeles Superior Court were not made public. Denying wrongdoing, the company said it settled the suit to avoid the cost and disruption of a long trial. The workers had maintained that they suffered from exposure to chemicals in resins, paints and other materials used at the company’s “Skunk Works” plant from the early 1980s through 1988.
