Orange County Credit Reporting Services Settle With FTC: Two Orange County credit reporting services, along with an Ohio company, have agreed to take steps to prevent what the Federal Trade Commission says were breaches of personal privacy. The companies--Information Resource Service Co. of Fullerton, CDB Infotek of Orange and Inter-fact Inc. of Maple Heights, Ohio--admitted no wrongdoing in the settlement, which involved no fines. The FTC had alleged that the companies failed to prevent credit reports from being reviewed by people who had no legitimate reason to see them. All three “super bureaus” buy and sell personal financial data.
