LAGUNA HILLS — Transitional Hospitals Corp., a unit of Community Psychiatric Centers in Laguna Hills, said Tuesday that it has completed the acquisition or conversion of 10 facilities around the nation, including one in Brea.
Atlanta-based Transitional Hospitals said it hopes the acquisitions will help make it a leading provider of long-term critical care. If the facilities open by the end of the month as planned, the chain will have a capacity of about 700 licensed beds.
The facilities are situated in Minneapolis; Hollywood, Fla.; Peabody, Mass.; San Diego; Greenwood, Ind.; Greenfield, Wis.; Houston; Las Vegas and Albuquerque, N.M. In addition, the former CPC Brea Canyon Hospital in Brea, formerly a 48-bed mental hospital, is being converted for Transitional’s use.
