Ralphs Grocery Co. announced the retirement of Patrick Collins as vice chairman and chief operating officer.
He will be succeeded as chief operating officer by Alfred A. Marasca, president.
Collins joined the Los Angeles chain in 1972 as a vice president. Masca joined Ralphs in 1957 and has held a variety of positions.
The company also said Terry Peets has been promoted to executive vice president of marketing from senior vice president of marketing.
