Future Automation Inc., a producer of electroplating systems for the semiconductor industry, will double its plant size this week when it moves from Simi Valley to Moorpark.
The company, whose customers include IBM, Intel and Motorola, paid $2.1 million for its new 55,000-square-foot headquarters, according to Daum Commercial Real Estate Services, which represented the building’s sellers.
Mike Chicos, Future’s operations manager, said the new facility on Commerce Avenue is twice as large as the company’s former plant.
“Business is good and we’re hiring,” Chicos said. He said Future, a division of Technic of Providence, R. I., expects its present payroll of 50 to increase to 75 or 80 by year’s end.
