Pacific Sunwear of California Inc.: The Anaheim young men’s clothing retailer reported that profit for its fiscal year ended Jan. 29 totaled $3.9 million, or 72 cents a share. That contrasted with the company’s earnings of $2.7 million, or 53 cents a share, for the previous 12 months. Annual sales increased 55% to $85.3 million from $54.9 million. For the fourth quarter, the company’s profit increased to $1.5 million, or 28 cents a share, from $902,000, or 17 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Three-month sales rose 49% to $25.4 million from $17 million. The company said the sales increase was primarily a result of opening 44 new stores since Jan. 30, 1994.
