Builder survey--Greystone Homes Inc. of Los Angeles erroneously reported sales for its entire California operation, instead of Southern California, in The Times’ 1995 survey of residential building, published March 11 in Real Estate. The company built 672 single-family homes in the Southland, with 80 left unsold at year end, for a sales volume of $162.3 million. Using the correct results, the company ranked No. 8, rather than No. 2.
The Southland’s biggest home builder for the last two years has retained its No. 1 ranking in 1995 in The Times’ 25th annual survey of residential building in Southern California.
K&B; built 2,722 single-family homes and apartments last year, more than twice as many as its closest competitor, and generated $432 million in revenue.
A total of 83 companies participated in the voluntary survey of home building in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Ventura, Santa Barbara and Kern counties.
