Access Health Acquires Humana Contract

Access Health Inc. said it will provide health-care information to an additional 1 million members of Humana Inc.’s health plans under an expanded contract with the managed health-care company. Terms weren’t disclosed. Humana boosted the number of members who can use Access Health’s information to 1.6 million from 600,000. The Humana enrollees will be able to call for information about symptoms and get advice on health-care options and information from registered nurses, Access Health said. Shares of Rancho Cordova-based Access Health rose $1.25 to close at $27.75 in Nasdaq trading. Louisville, Ky.-based Humana’s shares fell 25 cents to close at $19.75 on the NYSE.
