Symantec Corp. said it’s preparing a fix for a security flaw in its popular Norton Utilities 2.0 software for Windows 95, which lets PC users back up files, protect data and prevent damage from viruses. The bug can leave users of the software vulnerable to outside attack when they get on the World Wide Web. . . . Ziff-Davis Publishing Co., the computer publishing arm of Japanese computer power Softbank Corp., agreed to buy a minority stake in San Francisco-based Herring Communications Inc., which publishes the Red Herring high-tech business magazine. Terms were not disclosed.
