AFL-CIO Union-Industries Show Highlights Jobs

The AFL-CIO Union-Industries Show, an exposition highlighting careers in unionized jobs and industries, will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from Friday through Monday. This will be the third time in the show’s 63-year history that it is has been held in Los Angeles. The AFL-CIO says the exhibition will feature about 400 unions and companies with union employees. It will focus on jobs such as firefighters, airline pilots, flight attendants and movie special-effects workers. The show, which also will spotlight the products made by unionized companies, is especially aimed at youths interested in pursuing careers in union occupations. Admission is free.
