Borland Software Says It May Miss Estimates

Borland Software Corp. said it expects to report first-quarter revenue below guidance because of cautious customer spending and longer sales cycles.
Borland said it expects to report revenue of $56 million to $58 million, lower than its previous estimate of $59 million to $61 million.
The Scott Valley, Calif., company reaffirmed its previous pro-forma earnings per share estimate of 7 cents to 9 cents; the average estimate of brokers surveyed by Thomson Financial/First Call was for earnings per share of 8 cents. Borland shares fell in-after hours trading to $10.80 after closing at $11.57 on Nasdaq.
