Berkshire Owns Shares in Wal-Mart, Anheuser

Berkshire Hathaway Inc., the investment company of billionaire Warren E. Buffett, revealed previously undisclosed stakes in Anheuser-Busch Cos. and Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
Berkshire held 44.7 million shares of Anheuser-Busch, valued at about $1.9 billion, and 19.9 million shares of Wal-Mart, valued at about $874 million, as of Sept. 30, it said in a regulatory filing. The stakes amount to about 5.8% of Anheuser-Busch’s shares and less than 0.5% of Wal-Mart’s.
Anheuser-Busch said on April 21 that Berkshire had acquired an unspecified stake, which sent its shares up more than 6% that day. Berkshire is known as a long-term investor.
Anheuser-Busch stock added 28 cents to $43.45 on Monday. Wal-Mart rose 12 cents to $49.62.
